Hallo to all our Happy Hearts Friends!
So, how do you write a newsletter to cover 3 trips? This is the first time in 6 months that I had time to sit down and write something... the only reason being that we as a family had moved to remote West Zambia last month and found some time to relax: looking over the Zambezi river, drinking a coffee and to write down some thoughts!
These thoughts bring back memories of the most amazing past 6 months were I had the privilege to see God’s hand in such a wonderful way! At the end of last year I had my first trip with my son, Ben (he is 14 years now). The Lord challenged me to take him along on a trip...

At Happy Hearts God always exceed our highest expectations! In Job26:14 it is written “Indeed these are mere edges of His ways and how small a whisper we hear of Him! But the thunder of His power who can understand?” This is the best way to express another incredible mission trip into the remote parts of the DRC! For five weeks Benjie and a friend, Henry, travelled through remote parts of the DRC, sometimes by motorbike sometimes by truck and sometimes by boat! These areas haven’t seen missionaries for years...

“During my visit to the DRC, in March this year, I walked in an area in the central part of the Congo. The Lord had spoken to me about this part of the land and about His heart for these people. They are beautiful people who are being mislead, just as we are, by the LIE. With the sound of drums at night, offerings are being made… not to the Living God, but to him who brings destruction and bondage and slavery. The spiritual warfare is big and light and darkness are in a fight every day...

The Lord has provided and blessed Benjie to be able to minister at a few places in the DRC during his trip in March. Benjie and one of his South African friends, Johan noticed the extreme physical hunger in Mbusji-Mayi, a remote village in the Congo. Some evenings when Benjie decided to sleep outside because of the heat, he had the sad experience of hearing children crying of hunger right through the night. The people doesn't work or get any form of income, but the amazing spiritual part of this is that many churches are having church services now on a daily basis. Benjie had the opportunity to witness some of the sermons, as well as having the privilege to lead one service...

March was a good month for us here at the Happy Heart Ministries. Benjie went to the DRC and came back with some sad, but also very encouraging stories! In a town called Mbuji Mayi, in central DRC, Benjie was shocked to see how the people were suffering… the lack of basic food and medicine make life really tough there. Nothing is strange about hearing hungry children cry through the night. The solution is, as always, with God and the people know that! It’s as if their hunger for God have become bigger than their hunger for food!

I realize we have skipped December’s newsletter, but without hesitation I would like to report on all that happened during December and January. The headline would obviously be Benjie and his family’s trip to Zambia. They had a wonderful time, traveling through Botswana, experiencing magnificent landscapes and wonders and even daring to swim in a river with crocodiles nearby. From the 16 to 28 November Benjie visited the DRC on another exciting mission trip .According to Benjie this trip was loaded with adventure, emotion and incredible testimonies! Travelling by plane to Kinshasa, then with a small plane (Cessna 206) to the rainforests of the Central part of the DRC, followed by some motor biking and the Makoros (wooden boats) it was always going to be
challenging… but saving one soul would make the whole trip worth every effort and every cent! Isn’t that what Jesus meant when He said “Go and make disciples!”...

This is our first newsletter to give you feedback on what the Lord has done this past month. We hope that you would find this letter effective in keeping you updated and informed.
First of all we would like to give you our most humble thanks for all your prayers and support. It is certainly the most important part in mobilizing any project we would hope to launch and with the Grace of God we accomplish more than expected.
